ABOUT US

The Alliance of Black Scientific COE Directors comprises Deputy/Associate Directors of 13 NCI Cancer Centers. Our Vision is an NCI Cancer Center ecosystem where COE influences the conduct of research and all efforts to reduce the burden of cancer in catchment areas across the country. The Alliance members have been learning from each other, strategizing, writing OpEds, peer reviewed publications and grants together since 2022. The SoCOE conference series is funded by NIH/NCI 1R13CA290996.

WHO WE SERVE

The Catchment Area served by Alliance members covers 16 states and territories. Every demographic population, including Black, Latino, Asian, Pacific Islander, American Indian, rural, LGBTQIA, low SES, etc., is included in this combined catchment area map and served by an Alliance member’s Cancer Center.

PUBLICATIONS & OpEds BY THE ALLIANCE

Together, Alliance members have published several op-eds and peer reviewed publications. Our goal is to amplify the importance of community engagement and to inform the way COE work is executed in comprehensive cancer centers
